Otter rock was a lakeside campground with a large lake and river too one side. A set of cabins sits along the lake with a second set along the river and a few more dotting the land further into the treeline, accessed by gravel covered trails. It sat in the forests of Oregon, hidden in a Siuslaw National Forest.
The campground and cabins have been turned into a small but thriving community full of survivors trying to make it in this zombie wasteland. The cabins use their remote location to help ward off the undead, having erected barriers in the forests that surround the cabins and campgrounds to further keep the undead out in the form of fencing, both metal and wooden, and barbed wire. All in all it is a little oasis away from the horrors of the world. At least for now..
There are over fifteen or twenty cabins total that are spread out along the lake and the river that empties into it, both along the shoreline with a few nestled in the forest behind that. The cabins can sleep upwards of four people comfortably. They were not very big and with a main seating area with a cooking area attached and the bedrooms but people called them home and they offered shelter from the weather and a small oasis away from the undead.
Other building and structures in and around the cabins have been turned into a blacksmith and other necessities. Gardens have been planted where food can grow. They use the forests and lakes that surround them to hunt for food in the form of animals and fish, both very plentiful what with most of the population now dead or part of the shambling horde. The community is open to outsiders as long as they can manage to get along and provide for the community. That is, assuming they can find the place.
