The day known as Day 0, the day the zombie apocalypse was officially recognized by the public, was a day heard around the world. CNN was doing a live broadcast in downtown New York City. One of their prime time reporters. Angela Maycombe was reporting downtown when she was attacked. A zombie came up from behind and bit her on the arm before two more swarmed in and they feasted on her entrails live on television. It was the broadcast heard around the world and a swathe of panic ensued. It was formally recognized as the start of the zombie apocalypse as we know it and it was all downhill from there. Up until that moment the panic was at a low tempo and governments were able to control it, hiding the worst of what was coming from people with curfews and mandates that everyone stay indoors. Things were starting to get very serious but the government was trying their best to hide it from the public.
The broadcast of her death was seen around the world and set the world into a panic. Soon other similar incidents began popping up on the internet and in the news media. People began too loot and riot as a direct reaction to the sudden panic that took over. Curfews were ignored, mandates to stay indoors went unrecognized. It all made things worse as more and more people began to succumb to the zombie plague. No-one was safe and the plague ran rampant across the globe like an out of control wildfire until it was too late and there was no turning back. Governments fell and the zombie apocalypse as we now know it was set in motion.
